Episode Guide
How Survivor: Blood vs. Water unfolded, week by week.
- 1“Blood Is Thicker Than Anything”Sep 18, 2013The twist is the whole show this time: ten returning players reunited on Galang, their ten loved ones across the water on Tadhana, and a Redemption Island waiting for anyone voted out. The opening Tribals put Candice on the block for Galang and Laura B. for Tadhana, but before Laura B.'s torch can be snuffed, her husband Rupert stands up and volunteers to take her spot on Redemption himself. It's a sacrifice that sets the tone for the entire season, and Rupert heads off to the duel arena so his wife can keep playing.
- 2“Rule In Chaos”Sep 25, 2013Redemption Island holds its very first duel, and Rupert, who'd given up his own game for his wife, comes up short and becomes the first person out for good. Back in the game, Tadhana drops immunity and the loved ones decide to cut Marissa Peterson, Gervase's niece. She's voted out and sent to Redemption, and her uncle is left fuming back on Galang over a move he couldn't do a thing to stop.
- 3“Opening Pandora's Box”Oct 2, 2013Tensions boil over out at the Redemption Island arena, and this time Colton Cumbie is at the center of it. Miserable and checked out, Colton announces he's done and quits the game on the spot, getting a withering earful from Probst on his way out. The episode's Tribal sends Rachel, Tyson's girlfriend, off to Redemption as well. Tyson, oddly, comes out of the week more locked in than ever, his head finally fully in the game.
- 4“One Armed Dude and Three Moms”Oct 9, 2013Tadhana has leaned on Brad Culpepper as their muscle, but the former NFL lineman has been calling too many shots and rubbing the younger players the wrong way. When the tribe deadlocks 3-3 at Tribal, the revote swings, and Ciera helps lead the charge to topple the alpha. Brad is blindsided 3-1 and shipped to Redemption Island, the strongest body on the beach gone in a heartbeat.
- 5“The Dead Can Still Talk”Oct 16, 2013Galang has cruised without a single trip to Tribal, so their first vote is a jolt to the system, and Aras turns it into pure strategy. He pitches voting out one of their own strong players, Laura Morett, precisely so she'll land on Redemption and take Brad down in a duel. The plan lands exactly as drawn up, and Laura M. is voted out and sent to the arena. Out on Redemption, the next duel ends Marissa's run for good.
- 6“One-Man Wrecking Ball”Oct 23, 2013Hayden has been riding high with his girlfriend Kat still safe in the game, which makes what comes next land like a gut punch. Kat Edorsson never sees it coming; a tribe that's decided she's too risky to keep blindsides her cold, and she's voted out and sent to Redemption in tears while Hayden is left reeling. Out at the arena, Brad finally runs out of road, eliminated in his duel as Laura M. and John advance.
- 7“Swoop In For The Kill”Oct 30, 2013Laura B. finds herself right back on the block, the second time Rupert's wife has stared down a vote. Tadhana sends her off to a Redemption Island that's stacked with hungry players waiting for a shot back in. The duel out at the arena, meanwhile, is the end of the line for Kat, whose game closes for good even as her boyfriend keeps grinding away inside the game.
- 8“Skin of My Teeth”Nov 6, 2013Eighteen days in, the tribes merge into Kasama and the individual game is on. First, Redemption delivers a jolt: Laura Morett wins her way all the way back into the game, while Laura B. and John both see their games end in that same duel. Then the new tribe holds its first vote, and even with his brother Vytas winning immunity, the returning-player bloc sets its sights on Aras. One of the biggest threats left standing, Aras is blindsided and sent to Redemption.
- 9“My Brother's Keeper”Nov 13, 2013With his brother Aras now out on Redemption, Vytas is fighting uphill just to stick around. Monica wins immunity, the dominant alliance keeps rolling, and the next vet in line gets the boot. Vytas is voted out and sent to join his brother at the arena. Out on Redemption, Aras loses his duel and becomes the first member of the jury, the Baskauskas brothers falling within days of each other.
- 10“Big Bad Wolf”Nov 20, 2013It comes down to the last loved-one pair still together in the game: Ciera and her mother, Laura Morett. The dominant alliance wants Laura M. gone and hands Ciera an impossible choice. At Tribal, Ciera does the unthinkable and writes down her own mom, sending Laura M. to Redemption on a 5-2 vote and becoming the only player ever to vote out her own loved one. Out at the arena, Vytas loses his duel and joins the jury.
- 11“Gloves Come Off”Nov 27, 2013The bottom of the tribe finally tries to make some noise, with Hayden, Ciera, and Caleb scrambling to crack the alliance's grip. At Tribal, Tyson is so sure of his standing that he plays his hidden immunity idol on himself without a single vote coming his way, a pure flex of control. The numbers hold firm, and Caleb, Colton's fiancé, is voted out 4-3 and sent to Redemption.
- 12“Rustle Feathers”Dec 4, 2013The vote splits the tribe straight down the middle, Hayden's side and Monica's side deadlocking 3-3 and refusing to budge. Gervase is safe with immunity, but the revote stays knotted, leaving only one way out: a rock draw. The tribe reaches into the bag, and Katie Collins, Tina's daughter, pulls the odd rock and is sent to Redemption on pure chance. Out at the arena, Caleb's run ends in his duel and he joins the jury.
- 13“Out On a Limb”Dec 11, 2013Hayden has turned into a problem the alliance can't shake, mouthing off and refusing to go quietly. Ciera wins immunity to keep herself safe, and the majority finally gets its shot at Hayden. He's voted out and sent to Redemption, where a logjam of former players is waiting for one last chance back in. Out at the arena, Katie loses her duel and becomes the next member of the jury.
- 14“It's My Night”FinaleDec 15, 2013Finale night opens out at Redemption Island, where Tina Wesson pulls off a stunner, winning the final duel to climb back into the game while Hayden and Laura Morett are both eliminated to the jury. Back in the game, Tyson takes no chances: he plays his hidden idol on Gervase at Tribal, flipping the vote so Ciera goes home instead. Then Tyson wins the final immunity and closes the door on Tina, locking in a final three of Tyson, Monica, and Gervase. At Final Tribal the jury rewards the player who ran the entire back half of the game, handing it to Tyson 7-1 over Monica with Gervase shut out. After two prior heartbreaks, Tyson Apostol is finally the Sole Survivor.
