The story

Terry Deitz was the ultimate one-man army. A former Navy fighter pilot turned commercial airline captain, he spent Panama stranded against a numbers disadvantage and simply refused to lose — winning five individual immunities in a row and becoming the first player ever to find a Hidden Immunity Idol on Exile Island. His immunity run was so dominant he never even had to play it.

His reign ran out one challenge short: he lost the final immunity and was voted out in third, the idol expiring in his pocket. A second chance in Cambodia ended in heartbreak when he left the game on Day 13 after learning his teenage son needed emergency heart surgery. Beloved for his grit and his class, Terry is one of the great challenge beasts never to reach a Final Tribal Council.
