Dan Spilo, a talent manager, was an experienced strategic player who survived several Tribal Councils through the merge as part of the post-swap majority. During the game, multiple players — most prominently Kellee Kim — raised concerns about his inappropriate touching, and production issued him an on-camera warning.
On Day 36, at the final six, Dan was removed from the game by production following a further reported off-camera incident involving a member of the crew — the first and only such removal in U.S. Survivor history. The situation led CBS to introduce new on-set conduct rules and anti-harassment protocols for later seasons.
