Ricard Foyé was the engine of Survivor 41. A flight attendant with a fearless big-move instinct, he piled up three individual immunities and orchestrated some of the season's boldest blindsides, playing with a foot on the gas while everyone around him kept trying to wait out the chaos.
His defining move was also his coldest. Ricard and Shan Smith had been a pair since day one on Ua, the strategic center the whole tribe ran through — and when his own safety was secure, he decided it was now or never and built the move to take her out. Erika split the votes between Shan and Liana to flush a possible idol; Shan never played the one she was holding and was blindsided on the revote, idol still in her pocket. At her final tribal she turned to him and said, "Ricard, you have my vote for a million dollars," never realizing he was the one who'd engineered it. It was the gut-punch of the back half of the season.
After that he was simply too dangerous to keep, and the rest of the cast knew he had to go the instant he was beatable. The moment his immunity run stopped, he was voted out in fifth — one of the standout players of the new era's opening season.
