The story

Danny Massa attacked Survivor 44 with the intensity of the FDNY firefighter he is — a brash, idol-hunting Bronx native who installed himself at the head of the Soka alliance and made no secret of who he thought should be running things. The all-gas-no-brakes style made him a force, and a problem.

His disdain for tribemates who sat out challenges, and his hard-charging ego, turned Carolyn Wiger against him; she rallied the Tikas and remaining Ratus to take him out at the final seven. A boxer and wellness coach off the island, Danny went down swinging.
